Empowering Communities
villageRISE International(vRI) is a not-for-profit organization (CBO) that supports pro-village empowerment initiatives in marginalized regions of Africa. We are a LifeBridge of hope between villages and sustainable cities, between connected and the unconnected, and between banked and the unbanked of the world. We support vulnerable community households to build sustainable livelihoods and develop their communities. The vision of this humanitarian organization is to create self-sustainable house-holds through holistic initiatives geared to bridging the ever-widening socio-economic gap between sustainable cities and villages
What We Do
vRI Initiatives and Objectives
VillageConnect
This is a multistakeholder partner initiative that champions for Rural Internet uptake and LastMile Data and Broadcast Connectivity for Productive Use thus progressively bridging the existing rural-urban digital divide while leapfrogging rural digital economies, markets, villages, towns and populace.
Green Village Initiatives
GVi is a project aimed at encouraging sustainable use of resources and mitigation of climate change. We support tree planting, pollution reduction and environmental conservation projects. A cyber-tree Initiative pushing for a tree to be planted for every device connected online.
VillageHealth Initiative
VHi follows a patient-centered approach which addresses limitations to human development and unity in the community through a focus on both prevention and treatment across five care departments: maternal and infant health, child health, non-communicable diseases, infectious diseases, and mental health.
talantaEnterprise Initiative
This is a project aimed at identifying, nurturing, and marketing talents from marginalized regions.
villageBanking Initiative
This a project to support village chamas towards improved access to capital and manage them to grow to microfinance enterprises.
Village Scholars Initiative
An education project aimed at providing scholarship and learning airlift opportunities to the bright and needy children. We also sponsor vocational upskilling of youth-full population in vulnerable communities.
Books & Libraries Initiative
An education project aimed at providing learning materials to marginalized schools and learning centers as well as extending the reach of digital education/learning inclusive of online learning.
Technical Support to County and Local Government
We work with devolved governments, national and development partners to provide solutions for socio-economic, sustainable development processes, peace and security in villages/clans by offering platforms for engagement among citizens and leaders by educating, training and building the capacity of citizens and county/local government officers.
